Each Non-NDAA UAS Development Kit consists of an integrated suite of prototyping and experimentation tools intended to support advanced research, testing, and capability development for small FPV unmanned aircraft systems. The kit includes a large-format 3D printer for rapid fabrication of customized airframes, component housings, payload mounts, and replacement parts. It also provides a single-board computer (SBC) for onboard compute and AI development, an SBC cellular development board to enable beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) testing in controlled environments, a global LTE cellular modem, and a dual-band antenna supporting GPS and LTE functionality. Additional components include a software defined radio, matched antenna array for signal characterization and direction-finding research, a digital camera compatible with the SBC, and a 64 GB micro SD card for data storage and logging. Collectively, these elements enable rapid design iteration, systems integration, and experimentation using Non-NDAA components in training and development contexts.

When integrated on a UAS platform in controlled and authorized test environments, these capabilities enable advanced onboard processing for autonomy research and AI-assisted perception. The onboard SBC and camera may be used to develop and test algorithms that detect and classify objects visually, while the software defined radio and antenna systems support research into signal characterization and signal-based awareness functions. Together, these subsystems allow developers to explore concepts such as visual and signal-based AI processing at the edge, supporting experimentation in navigation, safety features, and mission-system prototyping. All such uses are intended for training, development, and evaluation activities consistent with applicable laws, policies, and privacy and airspace regulations.
